Miss my home town

Today I woke up missing my home town.....

Mount frere a small, underdeveloped town in the Eastern Cape. The town is situated between Kokstad and Mthatha along the N2 road about 100 km north east of Umthatha.

I know there is not much interesting about it, but to me it special as well as interesting because my family is there. I miss my grandmother- Ukhulu (Mkhuluse)-my best friend ever!!

There my people hustling...we call them onokhowu (people running small businesses-sell fruit and vegies in there street to make living.)

There is one major street in Mount Frere and it is the Main street on the N2 road, this street has many restaurants, shops and many other public services including the Police Station, Post Office, Municipal offices and the newly built Madzikane Ka Zulu Memorial Hospital. It is surrounded by many rural village including Dangwana, Kumahahane, Mbondleni, Mtwana, Mtshazi, Mvuzi, Toleni, Qoqa and many others.

Mtshazi is where I am from under the leadership of mam'nkosi( woman traditional leader) Nozolile Makaula. Yippi! we are in advance eMtshazi- our leader is a woman...where else can you find that? Kwazulu...NEVER!! in the North West maybe still under negotiation process.
